For many teenagers and young adults future at the best of times is uncertain. Then a global pandemic came along and things got… complicated to say the least. Predicted grades deciding futures? It just doesn’t sit right with me, it took me two years to recover mentally from not getting what I wanted at A-level. I laughed it off but it’s not a nice feeling.
But if you some how manage to read this and you were meant to sit you’re GCSE’s or A-Level’s this summer and you end up getting screwed over by the system, it’s not the end of the world. You do not need to have life figured out at 18… if you do that’s wonderful. However the biggest piece of advice I could give to anybody is that you need to live life on your terms, don’t let people or your environment make decisions for you; don’t go to university if you don’t want to, take a year out to think about your options.
I went back to Uni at the age of 21! Those 3 years just reaffirmed to me that I wasn’t ready for such a leap, many of you will be but life is not a race if you put the hard yards in you will catch up, you will find your niche or passion.
